Swiss Quartz Movement

The Swiss quartz movements used by Stuhrling are among the most reliable and accurately made anywhere in Switzerland. They are powered by a battery and its regulator (time measuring device) is an oscillating quartz crystal. An electrical current causes the crystal to vibrate consistently and at a very high frequency. This gives the movement high degree precision.

Leather Strap

This timepiece strap embodies the ultimate in Stuhrling leather craftsmanship with a satin twill covered Genuine leather strap. The finishing ensures a timeless effect, which is emphasized by the powerful contrast. The vivid surface is a typical feature of Stuhrling artisan leather.

Assembling a Stührling Original mechanical automatic movement comprises no less than 30 checkpoints, spread throughout the assembly process. The movement must meet more than 7 criteria, including a mean variation in rate which is the highest standard in its class in the industry. Stührling Original remains committed to its mission of preserving high manufacturing standards on all of their fine timepieces. Each and every model conveys an inimitable story with extraordinary style.

The Lady Castorra is a classically built timepiece from the Ascot Family. It features an ultra slim case and a Ronda 515 Swiss quartz movement. Its complications include hours, minutes, and seconds with genuine Diamond marker at 12 o'clock position, which is indicated on the brushed finish dial.  With the Lady Castorra Watch Set, an additional strap with quick change pins is included, which allows you to mix and match your styles by color.

I bought this watch in May and loved it at first. The time holds very well and the white strap looked beautiful. However, within a few months of wearing it,the white strap started to look bad and the shiny surface was coming off. I sent pictures of the band to Stuhrling and explained that the band quality was very poor as it could be seen in the photo I sent them. I received a prompt response from Stuhrling that the strap is not under warranty but they sent me a link on their website where I could purchase one new strap for $34.99. Even though I originally liked the watch, I would not recommend it unless you are willing replace the strap frequently at a cost of $34.99 each.

I must say it is a very beautiful and eye-catchy watch. It comes in a huge box with an additional (black) strap. Both straps are made of leather covered with silk - I already own a very similar strap attached to another watch, purchased directly from the manufacturer.
The watch looks very elegant and classy. It is rather small, but all elements of watch face are easily visible. It is a quartz watch, so it keeps very accurate time and does not require manual winding.
I am very pleased with the quality of this watch and most probably will consider another timepiece from this manufacturer in future.
