My 6 year old son asked for Joker Bot for Christmas. After reading all the negative reviews on Amazon I scratched it off his list. He was VERY disappointed that he didn't receive it and told me that it was the number one thing he wanted for his birthday. I told him the reason I didn't purchase it but he didn't want to hear it. So we got it for his birthday. While I was barely able to put it together to resemble the creature on the box, he didn't care. He plays with it constantly and makes all different configurations and seems very happy with them. He loves this toy and asked me to come on here and give it a great review. So here it is!

This was a great toy for my grandson who is 6 years old. His older brother can build giant toys with Legos, but the younger one would become so frustrated . Once I discovered this line of toys, he could use his imagination and build what ever his little heart desired and became so excited at what he created. I had an older set that I bought many years ago and when he requested that I buy him a set to take home for Christmas, well, I was a little skeptical. After a short search online, I was extremely pleased to see Fisher-Price still carried this line. That you Fisher-Price!
(They always did make the best toys for a child's imagination).

We are not able to make the Joker-Bot stand up. It topples over very easily, which was fun the first couple of times but then annoyed kids. It is not a complete loss as my boys still use the building pieces to create other things with them, but if you want the bot you may be disappointed

My nephew was disappointed with the bot and so was I so I didn't bother with the other forms until recently. Anyway as many people here are saying this set is some what difficult to put together. The problem lies with the grey pieces which do not snap into place, but merely slide in. This is a problem that plagues these sets. The blocks though are very good at staying together, so if you build the joker planes or the joker copter youll be okay, its just the bot form that suffers due to its reliance on the grey pieces. Had FP promoted the other forms instead of the bot id be happier, also it is a let down FP did not put instructions for the planes or copter, they only put a front and back photo, so you could get an idea on what to do, easy for adults but not kids. On the plus side the blocks are well made and hold on to each other very very well better then some Lego sets! I just wish they fixed the grey pieces (maybe if FP made the grey pieces with the same connection as the blocks?) All in all I WOULD recommend this set. It may only have detailed instructions for the joker bot, but the other three forms aren't that hard to make and are pretty cool. The forms that are featured are the Joker-bot, Joker Plane 1 (fighter) Joker Plane 2 (bomber) and Joker Copter (with rotating block for the rotor!) Also don't forget that as a block set you can build an unlimited number of things. it is a let down the main form is bad but the other three are very good and look better (imo) anyway.

I read the reviews that warned me that it would be difficult to build and was going to fall apart. Unfortunately, my 5 year old asked for it from Santa. My fingers were sore from jamming the pieces in place. It said that it was for 4+, which usually means that he is able to build it himself. He couldn't possibly get the pieces to snap into place. You can barely walk by it without it falling apart, much less play with it. It hasn't gotten much play time since we put it together Christmas morning. If this wasn't the one thing that he asked Santa for, there's no way we would have bought it.

But, like with Legos, once the kid takes it apart, forget about putting it back together. Not due to the toy, just...you know...finding all the pieces again and tracking down the instructions to reassemble it. I have to say I love, love, love Trios, though! They're bigger and less sharp when you step on them, lol! They are great fun to build with and you can make lots of great shapes with the fun shaped pieces and accessories.

One of my grandsons wanted this set and I was pleasantly surprised to see the price through Amazon!!! These blocks are of very high quality, I already have several sets in my playroom for all my grandsons, ages 3 to 8, to use when they come over and they have already integrated this set into the other ones I have. This is one toy they don't get tired of!!!
