    Good but short life time
This mouse is very comfortable and has shown a good power consumption so far. Somedays ago the right button didn't work well. I disassembled it so that I could fix the defective button.I found that the right switc(TTC) was different from the right one(OMRON). I am aware that OMRON switch is more reliable and a little expensive. I have replaced the switch by myself with 0.5$ investment.I don't understand why Logitech beyray customer's trust by cutting a chump money.

Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2015
About a few years ago, I used my laptop touchpad for everything. Gaming, Web browsing, Excel documents, I did all of this with a touchpad. And it wasn't the best touchpad either. So I started to look for a mouse. I heard that Logitech made excellent mice so I decided to buy one. I was going to buy the Logitech Marathon Mouse M705 but since I have small hands and that was a bigger mouse I decided to go with the M560 for $5 less. And I think I am glad I did. First of all, I think the M560 looks better, with its symmetrical design and matte black plastic. The lack of a seperated left and right click button is a nice touch and I haven't found any performance issues so far. The scroll wheel is a really cool feature. If you press the scroll wheel in, it will switch from ratcheted scrolling to smooth scrolling. I personally like the smooth scrolling better than the ratcheted. The scroll wheel can also be tilted from side to side to go back or forward between pages in a Web browser. In smooth scrolling mode, however, you will see some wheel wobble but you can't even tell by feeling it. Also, the silver ring around the scroll wheel isn't metal. It is plastic but I don't care that much because it still makes it look premium and cool. Right beside the scroll wheel is a square button that you can program to do almost anything you want. On the left side of the mouse where your thumb would go, you will find two buttons. Again, these buttons are programmable not unlike every other button on this mouse. Also, to program your mouse buttons, you will have to download SetPoint which is a free software that lets you program your mouse. I use the square button for switching applications and the buttons on the left for switching browser tabs and switching programs. Other reviewers say that the build quality is bad. I think that the build quality isn't GREAT but it certainly is OK. It isn't BAD. Sure the plastic seems a bit cheap and sure the scroll wheel wobbles but for $25 on Amazon I wouldn't complain. I think this is a great value even if the plastic isn't the greatest. I also quite like the matte black plastic. The rubber on the left and right sides of the mouse is comfortable and seems like it will last a long time. Also, Logitech says that this mouse is for righties and lefties but I think this mouse is more designed towards righties because if you are a lefty you will have to press the side buttons with your little finger. The black matte plastic the mouse is made of won't become shiny from grease and skin oil like glossy mice and certainly won't pick up any fingerprints. After using my mouse on a wooden table with no mouse pad, I have to say it was pretty accurate. And if you don't like how it performs out of the box, you can always change the settings in SetPoint. One last feature that I like about it is that it has a removable part on the bottom for the battery and there is also and holder for the receiver, which by the way, is tiny and awesome and takes no time at all to connect. Also, Logitech claims that this mouse has a two year battery life and I believe them, which is awesome. As a Logitech fan and customer, I am very pleased with my purchase of the Logitech M560 mouse.
Pros: Looks great, build quality is okay, neat scroll wheel, programmable buttons, accurate
Cons: None (maybe build quality might be an issue for some people but remember that this is a $25 mouse and I am completely fine with the plastic).
Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2013
It's been a long time since I treated myself to a new mouse. I have always been prone to Logitech in most all peripherals, but always mice and keyboards. Even a vintage MouseMan 3 button from 20 years ago. They still work. I even liked the later Wheel Mouse so much I was able to repair it when a switch failed and it kept on mousing.

But though it was getting old and worn, what I really was after the newest SetPoint software, which will not work with the old ones.

Enter the M650, I am not sure where it falls in the incredibly overpopulated roster of Logitech mice, let alone the competition, but when I saw it on sale at a local store, I knew it was the one. Unfortunately it was available only in silver, so I promptly ordered the black one from Amazon.

It arrived quickly and I was eager to set it up. With seven buttons, it seems to be the most "powerful" mouse I have used. I was set back a bit when I discovered the suggested SetPoint software was only for Windows 7 & 8. But, a quick check at the Logitech website and I found the XP version.

And it was all I expected, each of the buttons can be programmed for a huge variety of functions, including several that were new to me. Older versions offered one called "recall program" which would easily snap you back to the last window you were using and then toggle back and forth.

It took a little searching, but I discovered that one called "Document Flip" worked even better. Instead of switching between just 2 apps, it pulls up a small box with all open programs and lets you select either the last one you used with one click, or if you choose, anything else. Very handy. One called "Application Switcher" pops up all open widows in a single display, you then choose from that. Also very cool, probably normal to Win 8 users, but to an old XP guy, it's a treat.

It would be impossible here to describe all of the settings, virtually any command you can think of, some you wouldn't have, as well as assigning any keystroke combo to a mouse button. You should just check it out and see how much it helps your productivity and subdues your impatience. I found it is a simple task to reset the buttons for a special project , then change back. But,note to Logitech: It would be nice if users could create their own group of special settings, like a few personalized defaults. (There is a way to tailor the buttons for a variety of programs, but it can only be to a specific .exe file)

I really like how the scroll wheel can be nudged side to side, the most obvious use is forward/back. If you use more than one computer, it soon will have you pressing buttons that don't exist looking for functions that the mouse doesn't have.

I found it odd that pressing the scroll wheel straight down is not used, but maybe that is expecting too much. Instead, that push will "unlock" the scroll wheel from the notchy click to a smooth rolling, an unexpected surprise.

Unfortunately, after awhile the software stopped responding and I had to open it, hit "apply" and close it in order to get it to work. Annoyed, I tried the usual uninstall, reinstall routine and then, while still installed (I could see it in the "Uninstall Programs" list but nowhere else) it would not run at all. I tried but was unable to find the XP SetPoint on their website. I tried a lot of solutions. I finally wrote Logitech, in less that 24 hours they responded with 2 versions of the software. I had to install the old one first then the newer on top of it, and it fixed the problem. For now, at least.

All in all, I am sure there are competitors that might challenge the 560, but for my money, at that price, they could not even come close.

Thanks to the even sides, this mouse can be used with both right and left hand, leaving your main hand for some other means!! ;)

This is a great mouse from Logitech. I had the same one previously for which the receiver got damaged. Using a different mouse until this was delivered made me appreciate it all the more.

This mouse gets a lot of things just right for me.
The dimpled rubber layer on the sides and the size and shape makes it feel very natural to grip and work with.
The tactile feedback is also perfect for me. Despite the single surface, it is very intuitive to get a left click v/s right click.
I don't have an appropriate superlative to describe the hyper-scrolling mode/feature - you have to experience it yourself. For times that you need a more staggered scrolling behavior, hyper-scrolling can be turned off by clicking down on the mouse wheel.
The extra buttons are discreet and don't get in your way. I personally don't use the additional buttons on the sides and just below the mouse wheel - I suppose it could be handy.
The tracking accuracy is also much better than your average mouse. Other than a transparent glass top, I have not had any issues with tracking on a variety of other surfaces.
The mouse is very frugal with power and will automatically go on standby if there is no activity due to which the battery life is unreal. At the same time, resuming from standby/sleep is instantaneous.
The black color with the matte finish and the white/light gray accents make it visually appealing as well.
All in all, a tremendous value proposition on all fronts.
